Coalition of Community Health Clinics

The Coalition of Community Health Clinics is a non profit agency dedicated to the support of their members, a network of fourteen private, non-profit health clinics throughout Multnomah County. These clinics provide health services to the uninsured and under-served men, women and children in the Portland Metropolitan area. Visit the link to learn more about a coalition clinic in your area.

Community Alliance of Tenants

Provides a Renters Rights Hotline 503.288.0130 and information/advocacy with tenants to demand affordable and safe housing.

Community Energy Project

The Community Energy Project currently offers over 60 free Lead Poisoning Prevention Workshops in the Portland community year-round. They provide workshop participants with free cleaning and testing materials for their homes and help make connections between citizens and the agency partner services of the Regional Lead Hazard Reduction Program. Workshops cover basic prevention awareness, history and uses of lead, sources, testing, and short-term (next 24 hour) interim control actions families can take in their homes. Leadline

A Multnomah County staffed hotline. The Leadline can help you learn where lead is often found, how to control it, and what to do if you or a family member is exposed to lead. The LeadLine also provides callers with information and referrals for local lead programs and services. The LeadLine can be reached at (503) 988-4000. Spanish, Russian, and Vietnamese interpreters are available on the LeadLine as needed or online.

Oregon State’s Lead Poisoning Prevention Program

Provides surveillance for the state’s childhood lead poisoning prevention program and the lead based paint program. The web-site has links to a list of lead certified contractors.

Oregon State’s Asthma Program

Office of Sustainable Development

Information on creating healthy indoor environments including: selecting finishes, mold, and green cleaning. Sustainable Development also provides “Got mold?” workshops at events such as the Fix-it-Fairs.

OPAL: Organizaing People Activiating Leaders

Alliance for Healthy Homes

The Alliance for Healthy Homes is a national, nonprofit, public interest organization working to prevent and eliminate hazards in our homes that can harm the health of children, families, and other residents. These hazards include lead, mold, carbon monoxide, radon, pests, and pesticides. The Alliance advocates for policy solutions and builds community capacity.

Leadnet
The Leadnet is a nationwide listserv in which families, providers, community advocates, etc can post questions and receive feedback from individuals across the country. A blank email to Leadnet-on@mail-list.com subscribes you to the list.
